Archery taster session
In this introductory taster session, beginners will be introduced to the fundamentals of traditional archery in a safe and supportive environment. We’ll cover the basics of safety, understanding of the bow, arrows, range, consistency and importance of proper release of arrows.
You’ll have the opportunity to develop your own knowledge of the sunnah practice, get hands on experience using a bow, and start hitting the bullseye!
This is a taster session with no previous experience required. The session includes:
- Introduction and safety briefing – understanding the equipment, safe handling, and range rules.
- Basic technique training – learning correct stance, grip, nocking, drawing, and aiming.
- Guided shooting practice – hands-on shooting with individual coaching to build confidence and accuracy.
- Skill-building drills – fun activities and challenges to improve consistency and control.
- Mini target competition – Putting new skills to the test in a friendly group competition.
- Wrap-up and next steps – feedback, Q&A, and guidance for those wanting to continue their archery journey.
By the end of the taster session, participants will have mastered safe shooting basics, developed solid technique, and experienced the thrill of hitting targets with confidence.

Your instructor - Asim
Asim Mahmood is a qualified Archery GB coach with 10 years experience of delivering archery sessions and courses to adults and children in High Wycombe.
Sessions are delivered in a relaxed and fun environment with the intention to increase the number of people who participate and fall in love with the Prophetic practice.

Location
We’re located in Speen, Buckinghamshire – about 10 minutes drive from High Wycombe.
The session is held outdoors – so please dress accordingly! In the event of high winds or rain, we would expect to cancel and re-schedule.
