An introduction to deer butchery and wild venison cookout
We run this workshop in partnership with Wild Harvests.
In this workshop you’ll be shown the basics of skinning and butchering a deer carcass. You’ll have the opportunity to get hands-on experience under the guidance of your instructor and then enjoy the fruits of your labour as we cook some of the cuts over an open camp fire.
There’s no hunting or killing as part of this workshop – we’ll be using a freshly killed deer taken from another location.

Wild Harvests
Your instructor - Abdullah
Abdullah is a licensed hunter and deer stalker with a passion for ethical hunting and conservation. Since the Covid pandemic, he has focused on helping reconnect communities — particularly those with deep-rooted hunting traditions — with the land, their food, and the blessing of the harvest.
Through Wild Harvests, he offers guided stalking, training, and wild game experiences that are respectful, educational, and rooted in tradition.

Wild Harvests delivers traditional hunting experiences across the UK, combining fieldcraft with modern ethical standards. Their offerings include guided deer stalking, professional training courses, hands-on butchery sessions, and wild cookouts.
Wild Harvests ensures that every stage — from the hunt to the preparation — is handled with care, respect, and sustainability. Designed for both beginners and seasoned hunters, their experiences provide a unique opportunity to reconnect with nature, refine essential skills, and savour the authentic rewards of the wild.
Location
We’re located in Speen, Buckinghamshire – about 10 minutes drive from High Wycombe.
Our private, ancient beech woodland offers a peaceful, secluded setting ideal for bushcraft. With a mix of mature trees, dense undergrowth, and natural clearings, the area provides both shelter and open space for hands-on learning. Rich in native wildlife, it’s a perfect environment to reconnect with nature, practice survival skills, and immerse in the rhythms of the wild.
We’d typically run the event in all weathers – although if high winds or heavy rain make this unsafe or impractical, we’d relocate to field / barn setting where there’s a degree of cover!
